My Girl Friend's computer power supply failed and she decided to replace it. I saw your unit being advertised and took a chance and got one. I removed the hard drive from her old computer and plugged it into your adapter and it worked. I was able to completely recover all of the data from the drive. After recovering the data and putting it on CD's for her I reformatted the hard drive and saved a sample text/photo file to it. I was able to load it up on my computer and use it. I ordered a case for it that has the power supply and built in software so it will run as an external 500 GB drive. This will allow me to organize my working files and not have a bunch of thumb drives around with bits and pieces of info on them only to get misplaced when I need them. This also gives me a common external drive for working with my PC & laptop. Thanks it was worth the investment. Richard Gent
